They are equal in their applications. They are shades of significance we give ideas. Choose which ever metaphor makes more sense to you phenomenally and go with it. I like the concept of volume as it approaches a function. Try that one.

Positive is the male energy. It is a radiant energy whereby negative is a female energy and magnetic. Thus gravity is a negative energy; not negative in the sense of bad but simply the opposite charge of the male/positive energy. Lightness is the ability to push against gravity and is radiant, thus the positive of the two. Neither is good nor bad but work in unison throughout life. When something is sent it requires a receiver, etc.

Weight corresponds to gravity. Whenever you encounter a period in history when joy and pleasure are widely perceived as scarcer than suffering and pain, weight is negative. However, this is a temporary condition in historical terms.

When we enter a period in which more people are willing to pay to be relieved of pleasure than to be relieved of suffering, weight will become a positive.

Positive and negative are value judgements and thus at some level are always moral choices. As such they are never absolute, but only relative to the individual or group assigning the judgement.

if you are asking in relations to weight itself then I would have to say weight.

Lightness is the reduction of wait so that would cause it to be negative. While weight in general can decrese and increase. So I would say positive.

You could however also say that sense lightness is going in the oppisite direction that it increases in that direction so I would still have to say weight.

Lightness is positive. It represents freedom and flight.
Weight puts you down and ties you down.
