heck yeah i haven't had a period in over 5 years, the only long term effects are loss of calcium in your bones (they recommend you get a bone density test every year after being on it for 2 years) and once you stop getting the shot it takes a long time to get pregnant if you are trying.

You will miss your period, hair brakage, bone loss, chance of getting pregnant again is minimazed, allergies on your face, and if you stop it it will take the injection more than 6 months to leave your body and within this time if you get pregnant the chance of misscarage is very high....... I recomend using condom during the risky days(fertility days).

I HAVE HEARD ITS EFFECTIVE..IT IS NOT GOOD TO MISS YOUR PERIOD MORE THEN 2-3 MONTHS THERE IS A BIRTH CONTROL PILL CALLED SEASONAL YOU GET YOUR PERIOD ONLY 4 TIMES A YEAR..I THINK IT IS BEST TO HAVE YOUR PERIOD EVERY MONTH..OTHERWISE YOU HAVE A HIGHER RISK OF UTERINE CANCER. AS THE UTERINE LINING NEEDS TO SHED OR IT BUILDS UP.
