I hate the fans because they're the most hypocritical bunch out there. For years they whined about the Yankees' spending and how baseball should somehow "set a salary cap because it isn't fair to the rest of the league". Meanwhile they were outspending 29 other clubs in the majors.

When they signed Beltran, Pedro, Wagner, Glavine, and traded for salary dumps like Delgado and even Robbie Alomar not once did I hear a met fan say "oh, all this spending we're doing is bad for baseball". Yet, there they were signing and getting players which small market teams weren't able to afford. If they cared so much about the welfare of baseball and the smaller market teams, they should've protested the signings.

Why didn't they? Because they wanted a team that could possibly win the World Series. Oh wait...that's what the Yankees want too. How's that any different?

They'll also give you some sort of idiotic statement like "we're better fans". Really? How do you measure that? It's because they were trying to make themselves feel better for having losing seasons. They bring up how Yankee Stadium was empty during the early 90's (true) when the Yankee teams stunk but conveniently forgot how their stadium was empty when their teams weren't contending. Don't need to go too far for that one...just look at last year.

Another hypocritical statement: "We don't boo our own players". Oh really...let's ask John Franco if he didn't get booed. They were booing him in favor of Armando Benitez and after that they were boing Benitez in favor of anybody. Piazza even got booed. Let's not forget Carlos Beltran who got booed on Opening Day but now that he's producing he's getting cheered but they seem to forget about that and keep bringing up A-Rod getting booed (which I think is wrong as well).

The fact of the matter is, met fans and Yankee fans come from the same city and pretty much have the same mindset. Don't think you're a different brand of fan just because you root for a different team.

I don't HATE the Mets or any teams from the Big Apple. It's just that they are from New York and being from Philly, the only thing I like about New York is that it's 2-1/2 hours away.

For some odd reason - I hate the Mets

No true reason, the colors irrate me, beltran annoys me

Omar Minya's name annoys me

It's just like they try soo hard, and you know they won't win, why waste talent...let the Rockies have them for crying out loud
