Well....thats because...Europeans want to use their own head to solve a problem. By the way who created these terrorists? THE US....for their own vested interests. Now when they have no use of these terrorists...they just left them. And these terrorists....with american weapons...started to kill innocent people because...they don't have any real enemies anymore.
Now the Europeans (except BLAIR) don't want to make the same mistakes. That is why they criticise the US foreign policy. The US is run by giant Corporation...rather than the US public. So they will interfere where they think the US companies can make money. It has been like that since the creation of US.
FOR EXAMPLE: The conflict between India and Pakistan. The US has proposed to provide F16's to Pakistan....While they are offering F18's to the Indians. Now providing these kind of military hardware is going to fuel more weapons race. Pakistan doesn't use F16's against terrorists...they can't...because they are breeding terrorists. Hence it can only be used against India. Also the US knows that by providing F16's to Pakistan...there will be opposition from India...and rightly so they did oppose. So they decide to sell F18's to India.... Now who is going to gain from these sales...Pakistan...maybe...India...they are not fools....they don't trust Americans...Hence...India will not buy F18's. But Even if India buys F18's....its not going to be much of use...because they prefer Russian hardware as they have been more trustworthy. NOW who gains if both the deals go through....YES IT IS THE US COMPANIES. GET THE LARGER PICTURE.... THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE FOR SO MANY YEARS WITH SO MANY COUNTRIES...
So if any country thinks on its own and doesn't support all of US foreign policy...that means that...they don't fully trust US...because of its DOUBLE STANDARDS.

What you Americans forget is that Europeans in fact love the Americans, simply because some of you were Europeans as well. We just don't agree with the political views of the US towards war.
It is unjustifiable to support any war that is not supported by the UN. Don't forget that this happened before and caused the WWII.
Why can't the Western world be united, why Bush and Blair want so much to divide the western world (by the way the Europeans despise Bush and Blair not Americans or Britons)

This is why we need to be united with other countries not just US and GB or US all by themselves. If Europe doesn't think we should do something maybe we should hear them out. After all, what's in it for them if the US just stayed out of the mess a little while? We can't expect them to help if they don't even think WE should be there. I think most Europeans have the right idea. Most countries gave us a lot of gratitude for helping in WW2 even though we didn't really get involved until we were attacked ourselves and no we didn't win it all by ourselves.
You can just as easily ask why do so many American criticize US foriegn policy. You don't see it on our news much because the media is so well controlled by political interest groups. You hear about dissent of opinion on BBC becuase they are allowed to dissent AND be heard doing it and their reporters will report it. Ours don't. Our media doesn't report public opinion, it creates it. I wish BBC had people here in the US all the time just to report on US activities so the world could see what most Americans actually think since we can't trust our own journalists to do it.

It's simple - they think that US foreign policy is actually making things more dangerous, not safer - and on occasion, they have a valid point. Just look at the situation in Lebanon - how many little islamic martyrs is that going to produce when those kids grow up, and all with US backing. You should remember that US policy is set to protect american interests (as it should be) but not necessarily for european interests.
Most of the conflict really comes from the war for control of oil supplies... ahem. The War on Terror. Oops.

I think you either don't see much news, or get it from the wrong sources.
First of all, we like to pick our own fights, and that usually means not ones the UN was against, like Iraq.
Further, there is a huge international contingent in Afghanistan, in Yugoslavia, in Congo and various other African countries.
Let me guess, you are also one of those badmouthing the French, but conveniently forgetting the role of the French in the first, legalm, Gulf War?

So we should be thankful and give America our undue support for the rest of eternity. The US entered WWII unwillingly and only when their interests were at stake.
Should Germanys allies before the World War continue supporting the actions of Hitler just because they hard a prior relationship. Whether you like it not, many people in the world view Bush as Hitler and the republican party as the next nazi party.

You are right, they sit back and criticize us while we do all the dirty work. The problem is jealousy, they are just upset that we are the world power, that we have got it together. They are such hypocrites. All I know is if France get in a war with anyone I will be totally against assisting those ungrateful haters.

Do you really mean that what you wrote Europeans just look and do business with them??
We don't support them, we just want peace, and we don't want innocent people to lose. I am a critic of your foreign policy but that does not mean that I am against US. Did you understand my point?

The altruist ethics that is -- unfortunately gaining ground here in the US -- is dominate in Europe. In a word, they regard acting in your own interests to be evil. I can't predict the future, but it's hard for me to believe Europe will not suffer a harsh slide in just a decade or 2.
