the moon is much closer to the earth and is affected by it more, but your question is flawed, the moon does revolve around the sun, along with the earth.

The moon revolves around the earth because the earth has the gravitational influence to make the moon orbit around the Earth. Simplified, it's because of gravity.
Technically, the moon revolves around the sun with the Earth's help. It is because when the earth revolves around the sun, the moon still orbits it.
Hope this helps!

The moon revolves around the Earth via it's gravitational pull and revolves around the sun as it follows the Earth around the sun.

The sun rotates on its axis.

The earth moves around the sun. Actually this seems so, because the sun is much bigger than the earth. If they were similar sized they would be revolving round each other around a point colse to the centerpoint between them. But the sun being much bigger this centerpoint is so close to the sun's own centerpoint, that the earth seems to be going round the sun only.

A similar relationship exists bet-n earth and moon. Together, the earth and moon orbit the sun. They are actually continually falling towards the sun but they have a lateral (perpendicular) velocity component which the sun's gravity cannot affect, so they look like, in fact do, orbit the sun.

Hope this is clear.

The moon revolves around the sun. Albeit, in a rather spirally pattern as it revolves in small circles around the Earth.

Besides, from the perspective of the Earth, both moon and sun revolve around it - and both in circular like motions with no kinks - unlike the planets.

earth was created as a throw piece from the sun, hence it started revolving aruond sun ,that is rotating on its axis, bound by centripital force of sun.moon whether formed from the sun or earth was cought in the centripital force of earth and hence revolves around earth.
