i think harry is going to die (he's getting really really annoying with his whining and wanting to be a hero etc etc), i think snape is actually the nice guy here? and he and dumbledore actually acted the 'dumbledore dead' part to mislead voldemort (and basically the world), and what's with the veil thing?

I think Dumbledore is actually alive. Remember how he told the Weasleys that Voldemort's followers had found a way to exactly duplicate other people, and that they should have a password to be able to identify themselves? It was never mentioned again. Also, remember how he always put Harry off when he asked about Dumbledore's hand? I think "Dumbledore" is actually Wormtail. Since Wormtail's hand is silver, maybe the spell didn't work as well there.
Also, I don't think Harry will be the one who ultimately kills Voldemort. Remember, the prophecy only stated that a child born on the last day of July would destroy Voldemort, and be destroyed with him. Neville Longbottom was also born that day, but since he didn't show much promise in the beginning, and Harry was attacked, everyone assumed it was Harry the prophecy was talking about. But now Neville is coming into his own in fighting against the Dark Arts, so it could be him, instead.

probably the best harry potter fansite is mugglenet.
the shippers on mugglenet didn't even come close to what was going to happen in 'harry potter and the half-blood prince' - joanne k was just too clever for them.
why would you think she won't be too clever for us all again?

I have to agree with the other's, I don't think Dumbledore is actually dead. I think maybe Snape gave him a the "death stopper" potion. Of course Dumbledore didn't want Draco, a child killing him. I think he is alive and well, somwhere. Now to who is going to be killed in the final book, hmmm. I don't want to think it being Harry, but sometimes I think she will.
I think it being Lucius perhaps, and unfort a Weasley. It could even be one of the twins.
