Is this what you really want? To lay your troubles on someone else? Ask yourself, is this right?

This is 2006, so I hope you're not referring to an arranged marriage. I understand your frustrations over your son's problems and bad life choices...but it's his life. Sounds like he lacks maturity. If he wants to get married, there really isn't much you can do about it. It's not your place or your families place to interfere with that. What you should be doing, is talking to your son and being his Father. Have you tried intervention? Let him know you've been disappointed in him, but that you love him and want him to do right in life. There has to be a reason why he's doing these things and maybe he needs the guidance, wisdom and support of his dad. Love goes a long way and marrying him off is not the answer. He'll just become someone else's problem.

Okay Tricky must be a retard. He meant marry his son off. Not literally marrying his own son. Anyhow, the son should choose his own spouse. As a father, you should let the son make his own choices therefore he will face consequences in the near future who he has no other than himself to blame. You also have to take in consideration the possibility of more problems that your son may bring after marriage. If his wrong doing is a major concern, why marry him off and ruin some poor woman's life. Rest is up to you. Best of luck.

Let me answer your question this way: I've a colleague whose younger brother is physically violent. He's hurt his father and my colleague. She knows what her brother is like, but she wanted me to be his girlfriend and possibly even his wife. She thought that I could tame him or change him into a better man!!! What do you think of this? What do you think she was trying to get me into? You know your son VERY well, so you should know if it's a good idea to find him a wife. You have the answer yourself, right?

I think in order for us to answer this question better then we should know more. Like, what kind of wrong doings? What are his activities that you do not approve of?

And how will you get him married? Are you chosing his wife for him?

If your talking an arranged marriage you shouldn't. I think is this case let him do what he wants. He is old enough to decide on what he wants to do and really our children will do what ever they want. As parents we should be there to suggest. That also depends on the culture that we are depending on.

It's not your decision. It's his and his fiancee's decision. You can love your kids forever, and they'll always be your kids and you'll always worry about them, but you cannot make decisions for an adult, unless the State says you can. Sorry. It sounds like you want the best thing for him, but he has to do things for himself.
