Because most guitarists are too lazy to learn to read music. They would rather take the short cut. I admit that I do use tab once in a while, especially when there are two positions or more for a certain passage (ever try to play John Renbourn?) but I also do read music and when I am playing the old lute music, I would much rather play with actual notes.

I agree, even though I don't play anymore, when I used to play guitar I had the most difficult time trying to read and understand sheet music. So I could only play a song if I had tabs.
I gave up on those too though, lol. I'm trying to learn how to play keyboard/piano but it's like my only option IS sheet music now. I hate it! :(

well the thing is people what to have something to believe in and the tabloids provide that something. Oft times people what answers to questions that have nothing to do with then or the well being of others and that is where tabloids come into play and they also want to make Hollywood stars seems less than them or make themselves look better so they feed into tabloids.
