zidane holds the record of most expensive player when he moved to Real Madrid but he had just retired.
Luis Figo is next when he moved to Real Madrid from Barcelona but he is currently playing for Inter Milan.
Definately there will be a new record because of clubs like Real madrid and chelsea. chelsea is willing to pay 100 million pounds for Ronaldinho and 70million pounds for kaka. but the two brazilians are not moving into the club though

In my opinion Zidane is the most expensive player till although henry refused to be so. Now buffon will be the most expensive player if he joins new club leaving juventus
