Too much testosterone. As a female i don't think you could ever comprehend such as we will never comprehend what it is to be pregrant for 9 months.
Too get a clearer answer we can look at body builders who take steroids... added testosterone to get the answer. Men who take steroids are known to become violent and have short tempers. I guess you can say that this is a exaggeration of a normal male. We have a need to show we are the most dominant. Different guys express it in different ways. The most pure way to show it is be actually beating other men... this is why WWE, UFC and so many other contact sports exist.
It's all about being the 'alpha male'... like i said... it's easy to read and try to comprehend but you might never completely 100% understand... i hope you get to 99.99% !!! :)

Football is War on a smaller field with no death (well not a lot) Men instinctively want to dominate and overcome. Kind of like me wanting to overcome this question.
