Often times a battery disconnect code can appear after changing a battery. Many repair facilities will connect a diagnostic trouble code scanner to you cars powertrain control module at no charge. This will tell you why the lights are on. Be careful about having work done in the "cheapest" repair facility. Just remember the old adage: You get what you pay for!!

Take it to the mechanic to only get an opinion. Do NOT authorize any work if it's too expensive. Get a second opinion if it is expensive, or get the work done if it is cheap. I would recomend not going to a dealership because they will rip you off, unless for some reason you have an extended warranty. Good luck. By the way, most car in the year 2000 and up should have a computer that will tell them what they need to know. If they say otherwise, I suggest you go somewhere else. Michelin tried to charge me over $1000 dollar for a problem that cost me $125. Always get a second opinion from a reputable family owned place. Coorporate store just try to upsell and make money of you.

check you "dimmer" control knob....thats most likely the cause..replacing the battery has nothing to do with the dash lights.......

turn your "accessory" light switch off, or if you have your headlights on a "pull knob", then turn it until they go out.
