Over time we've gone from living together to me in an apartment. Waiting till his youngest graduates " done that" now till he moves to Ca. with older sister> What cha think

I think it sounds like things are going backwards not forward and it sounds like any excuse is good enough to put off being serious about this relationship. Sorry but my guess is if you want to be married you need to find another guy.

Have the two of you ever actually sat down and discussed marriage? If not, by all means bring up the subject. You might be pleasantly surprised at the results.
If you have...then it seem unlikely. The reason though might be more complex than him not caring enough.

I doubt he will marry you. At 58 yrs old, men don't think of a wedding as young people do. To him, being married or not, is same thing. As you're living with him, so he feels like you're his wife already.

i have a friend who's been with her man for 13 years trying to get him to marry her, it's never going to happen. you have to decide what's important to you the relationship or the piece of paper because he'll never marry you. all these things are excuses........practically speaking you'll always be in a position of weakness not strength. you can hang on for 10 more years for nothing. if something happens to him you wouldn't get his pension social security home money nothing. part of loving someone is planning for that eventuality, he's willing to leave you hanging in the breeze so to speak. i suggest you make yourself happy, keep outside interests, go to classes/groups have a life but don't make him your life...............love yourself you deserve someone who puts you first and you're not getting that don't settle , a relationship should complete you not be you...........good luck
