You will need a shop, tools and equipment. You should also figure that you will not make any profit for 12-18 months while you build the business. Depending on the area, you will need various government licenses and permits. You will need enough cash to cover the cost of parts, and supplies.

Allow for advertising costs, insurance and utilities. You will need to set up a way to accept credit cards, because in this day and age, most people do not have the cash to pay for transmission replacements.

Figure that you are going to have to do all the work yourself for a while, until the business is able to support the cost of employees.

You may qualify for a small business administration loan, or you may have to use your own sources, such as a home equity loan.

Good luck!

90 % of my coustimers i concider friends i still do all the work myself advertising is tuff as it will brake you the fastest the best way is to get local shops to send you stuff pay them your ad $
do quality work fix comebacks quickly and honor warranty
get a good rep quickly word of mouth is the only way i advertise as its free
if you can fund it yourself all the better as the intrest may make this a short adventure
