I have observed, in general, that asians seem to believe and follow astrology, numerology, palmistry etc more than europeans although a lot of study and research have been carried out by europeans and westners in these areas. Is it because astrology, numerology, palmistry and such things are inherent in the rigid and ritualistic religious customs and practices followed by asians and
they have a 'closed mind' approach to these beliefs and that europeans are more 'open minded' and challenge these beliefs?

Well, I'm European and I lived all over the place - everybody reads their horoscope! Even very, very religious Catholics and Lutherans! Difference is that we don't take horoscopes as doom's day, we read them for curiosity, but they are not taken too seriously. I think difference is that Asians take astrology, numerology, palmistry and similar things much more seriously, because they are accepted by their religion and practiced freely for centuries.

I think that Europeans do not believe much on predefined fate, destiny, karma, kismet or what have you. We believe that your fate depends on you and your actions rather than the stars or other nonsense...
Also do not forget that the European mindset and culture (democracy, humanitarianism, capitalism) does not allow such type off thinking

Asians (and other people) on the other hand believe that their fate is predefined. This way it is easier for them to accept their (usually miserable) life, and their masters can control them easier.
