So many people ask about evidence about Jesus or God "other than the Bible", as if one should automatically write that off as a reasonable source of information.
My answer is yes, there is other historical evidence--far too much to put in an answer her.
The Bible is a collection of books written over a period of 1500 years. That gives it a strong historical basis in itself.
Archaeologists have made discoveries following the information given it, people have been converted to belief in Christ trying to follow the history of it in order to disprove it,
There is a book written by a fellow named Josh McDowell,
where you might start, if you are interested called "Evidence That Demands a Verdict)".
But my question is always why this attitude? Is this an attitude you derived from your own study? Or is the sort of general attitude that so many people who have never really studied it out seem to have today?

There's actually very little evidence but the fact that there is any evidence at all is convincing.
Jesus was just one of hundreds of guys wandering around claiming to be the Messiah, performing miracles, and preaching one variety or another of Messianic Judaism. He's one of the few whose name we know.
Christianity as we know it today is a slick amalgam of dozens of other religions. Every single story, every single teaching is lifted from some other religion.
But the basic notion that there was a someone called Joshua Ben Joseph wandering around and preaching is almost certainly true.

There is no contemporary evidence except for the Bible. But even for atheist historians the Bible is more than sufficiant proof of His existence.

Yes, there is so much evidence that it isn't seriously debated among people who are actually qualified to debate it. The open-ended questions about him involve his "divinity" and how accurate our depiction of him is.
