Dear Khosrow
I am an Iranian national just like yourself living in the UK. Learning a language is a very long process. I know of many foreigners here whose level of English, even after 20 or 30 years of living here, is still quite basic. Commitment is the first requirement, surround yourself with as much English literature as you can, set yourself targets, for instance try to learn 5 new words each day, and listen to BBC. You can get a free education out of BBC world-service. And finally be patient. There was a time when I thought I could learn to speak fluent English in 6 month; a total fantasy! Be dedicated and disciplined if you want results.( Never underestimate the effect of radio, listen to English radio as much as you can)
All the very best.. Mohammad
