Russia and Iran have long been allies, since the 1800's. Same with India. Most other Mid Eastern countries buy military hardware and weapons from Russia, and generally have a fairly good diplomatic relationship with them. Lots of Russian Jews now live in Israel, and lots of trade and foriegn investment happens between the two countries as well. The only real issue anyone in the Middle East has with Russia is Chechnya, although its relatively minor compared to the issues the Middle East has with America. While it was USSR there was a balance of power. Now little Kingdoms & Democracies lift a finger at Russia and joke they don't have hair in their ear tops as most of the former USSR leaders had this special feature.

First they are handcuffed by the serious economic problem, social problems and the worst & unending one is chechneya's rivalry. Their rivalry was reflected in Moscow theater and subway.

Having said above, there is no sight available now to enter and see some thing about modern Russia who is member in G8, UN Security Council's permenent member, Super power etc. etc.... What is their contribution to the economically weaker developing world? Every nation want to make a quick money by selling Arms, military equipments and ammunition to kill the citizens of another nation but not interested to feed those who are really hungry!!!!!!
