Why are there different shades of brown colours on earthworms?

I may be wrong, but I believe it's due to various ages and breeds of worms. Also it could be the various type of soil they live in and what they eat may vary as well which could affect the coloring of their skin.

these r segment of earthworms
these help them in excretion
