A terrorist is someone whose weapon is terror. A terrorist will attack civilian targets with the intention of injuring and killing as many people as possible, thus creating fear and terror among the intended targets. Often terrorist will attack, wait for rescue personnel to arrive and then attack the people trying to help the injured.

Terrorist often hide among civilian populations, so it is very difficult to know who is an innocent bystander and who is a terrorist. Terrorist will often threaten the civilian population with injury or death if the civilian population refuses to allow the terrorist to mix in with the civilian population.

Many groups turn to terrorism, because their ideology or point of view is not supported by the majority of the population. Therefore, they must terrorize the population into submitting to the will of the terrorists. Most terrorist groups support ideologies that are rejected be a modern, liberal society. Often a hatred of a particular group is at the heart of terrorism. White power groups in this country have used terrorism, ie Tim McVeigh, although I believe he and his partners had ties to Islamic radicals in the Philippines.

Honestly I am not real sure. I mean I don't see a big difference between a soldier and a terrorist. What we are calling terrorist today are just people who are fighting to preserve their way of life just like we claim we are doing.

They dont have huge militaries so they cant just declare war and meet us on the battle field so they have to resort to other means. I get that.

During the American Revolution when we fought for our independence against the British, we were overpowered BUT we beat them by using militias. The militias were groups of men that did not wear uniforms and would set up road side ambushes.

In today's terms, we used terrorism to win that war. So, I honestly see no exact definition. If anything, I would say that my government are the true one and only terrorist of the world. Afterall, it is the USA, my government, that keeps sticking it's nose in everybody else's business threatening sanctions, etc.. if the dont do exactly what we want them to do.

Terrorist is really a stupid term. It's tactic-oriented, and obfuscates the essence of what differentiates the sides in these many coupled wars. If we set terrorism aside for a moment and focus on essentials, we have commonality on one side (Israel, USA, England, Australia...) some degree of freedom and support for individual rights. On the other side (Iran, Iran, Iran, Syria, Palestine (something less than a state)...), we have a coalition of mobs that embrace hatred (fear) of those freedoms, and prefer dictatorships and universal force of might over mind. In a word, it's a clash of man as an independent freewill entity vs. a savage slave to mystic collectivism. I prefer to live in a state that permits independent man to thrive.

A Terrorist is an antisocial element who harms any one or a section of people with his misdeed at any place at any time This cult doesn't have any religion of its own but listens to the commanad of religious or non religious leaders. They generally feel that a tough message is conveyed to the common public through them and they are happy in the propogation.

This is in plain English and I am happy that you wiould agree with my way of attacking the terrorists - That .... love buys any one and every one - Feed those who are needy - Always think you are a human being and surrounded by humans having all the feeling & relation ship as you have...........Phsysicians can cure a number diseases and health deficiencis -There is no cure for jealosy and lies ....It has to be cured by the man himself!!!!!!!!

a terrorist is anyone who kills in order to spread and instill fear among a populace...it is usually motivated by a political or religious ideal (or both). A Terrorist can work alone (the Uni Bomber) or as part of a political/religious (or both) group.
It is about ideological and/or theocratic agendas. although innocent people are targeted by a terrorist, it is usually meant for and directed toward getting the attention of. a nations government

Someone who wants to bring a country to it's knees by scaring the community.
A person willing to kill the innocent and the weak.
A person who wants to inflict their views on others.

I think that these religious terrorists should first read the Koran / Bible and follow it's teachings rather than just blow people up because some cleric told them to

During the Blitz on London, and other English Cities, it was referred to as Terror bombing! The aim? To not only destroy the infrastructure but to terrorise the civilian community, much the way Israel is doing to the innocents in Lebanon and Hezzbollah to the innocents in Haifa.

Apart from nationalities, terrorists are evil individuals. I think many of the terrorists have poor background, or grow up in a poor area.
Although terrorists are not just from poor background as I think the president of US has a terrorist mind, he has anti -Arab views.... He spread all over US the message that Iraninans are terrorist and support to make nuclear weapons....I think this is untrue, I think Iran just want to use nuclear technology....
