I get confused with True and Truth. If True is the adjective, then what exactly is Truth?

True is an adjective (describes a noun: That story is true.)
Truth is a noun (an abstract noun, but it acts as a noun in sentences: I am telling the truth. The truth will set you free. And it can be modified with adjectives "the whole truth" "the ugly truth".

Then, truthful is also an adjective, and truthfulness is again a noun.
