well WAN's arent as secure as a LAN due to the signals possibilty of being intercepted. But I am a fraud analyst at large bank and can tell you that even though its possible, it is statiscally unlikely to take place. This method would be hard to CC theives and not very efficient because of the amount of work and what potential rewards those people seek.

(1) Transactions (data) transmitted are not encrypted.
(2) There's 'spy' on source point (keyboard input are being recorded).

The risk associated conducted from above is that your important data can be stolen which MAY results from getting your passwords to eventually getting your wealth...
