I hear them talking about corruption but there is corruption in the UN but there is no evidence that it is more endemic than, for example, the US senate.

Is it just the theory of multi-lateralism that you don't like?

American see the UN as a governing body with the capability of interfering with their independence as a nation.

Well the UN basically wants to run the US and our constitution runs the US. The UN wants to basically take our Constitutional rights away from US citizens and make the world all the same.

It would be like a world wide European Union, Europe gave up its uniqueness with each individual country. The US will not give up. Besides, the UN are very much socialist, Socialism is the baby version of Communism and the people under the UN flag do not have the right to vote or change their leaders - like Democratic Republics do.

The US is the biggest contributor to the UN financially, gives it the land it sits on, the building it uses, and the US started the UN in the first place, and considering it is the the most corrupt and anti American organization in the free world,
what about it should we like? The fact no country in the world listens to it, the fact that it has no ability to enforce it's own rules, or maybe that they can make alot of resolutions and then get made if we enforce them, after 16 violations. Most Americans would prefer that the UN moved to Europe. Remember most Americans came to the US to get away from Europeon countries.

Corruption is only one problem. You need to look at the UN's decision making and its history. Just look at its total failure to implement Resolution 1559 with regard to disarming Hezbollah in S. Lebanon. UN is mostly just talk talk talk and little action. And since the poor non-aligned countries have the same vote as the US in the Gen'l Assembly, but don't pay nearly as much in annual dues, the American taxpayers feel that they are being cheated and disproportionately represented by both their population and financial contribution. If the votes were equal to the financial contribution, then the US would see much more of its policies pursued by the UN.

Given the current governance, 1 nation, 1 vote, it is NOT in America's interest to support the UN.

Because the US pays the most into the UN.
Whoever has the money has the power. It's that simple.

The talk about corruption is just political bla bla. There were plenty of US businessmen implicated in the last scandal, so it's not as if this had all been grand news or previously unknown to or bypassed the US gvmt.

Because there are too many Europeans in it and the leader is stupid. They hate everything we do because they are jealous that they get pwned by our economy and power even though they have been around for thousands of years longer than us. Our country was originally set up to be an isolated country away from the turmoil overseas. Teddy Roosevelt, WWI and WWII changed that and now we want to go back to how it was; but, we get attacked by terrorists so we have to spread the pwnage to them. The average American does not like multi-lateralism because we know what's best for ourselves; not some pencil necked socialist.

^ You sound so smart Harry; nice references. Are you a scholar by chance?
