this is called a head rush. it happens because a lot of blood rushes to your head when you stand up. if you watch your blood pressure the whole time it happens, you will see that it goes WAAAY down
this can cause some people to pass out, which isn't good, because you can get hurt falling down. i don't know what you can do to stop them, but i have learned to live with them. (i have one just about every time i stand up from any position)
good luck

if you are doing drugs. get off the drugs.
if you have been drinking, you are hung over.
if you are going through puberty you are having your period
if it is hot outside those are the first signs of blacking out from heat stroke. sit down and have a glass of water.
it may also just be a headrush from standing up too fast. stand up slower.

if your laying down for some time and get up really fast, then your blood preassure changes fast too, therefore making you dizzy. when you get up fast, gravity pulls blood down, then once your standing up, all the blood rushes up and confuses your brain. personally i like the sensation. (no, i aint no doctor, but i did happen to stay at the holiday inn last night...lol)

your blood pressure is lower than it should be. your sugar intake is probably either too hig or too low. watch what you eat and drink. take plenty of fresh water, not the fizzy stuff.
