What are we two year olds? It doesn't matter who started it. Why can't Lebanon denounces Hezbollah and his terrorist regime, and have them return the soldiers and stop bombing. If Lebanon government weren't so weak against these terrorist groups, then this wouldn't have happened in the first place. They are crying about their country being destroyed, when they should be fighting Hezbollah and his bandits. Everyone wants peace, what good can a war do for the economy for any country, Israel included. That is why you people should get over yourselves and put a woman in power, because none of this would be happening if we took the lead.

Hezbollah. Who operate within the borders of Lebanon. Lebanon has done nothing to stop Hezbollah from attacking Israel on a daily basis. So it is Israel's right and duty to protect there citizens. So invading Lebanon is the right step. If no one is willing to stop the terrorists Israel should attack them.

Don't listen to the antisemitism out there who blame all the worlds who's on Israel. Those people are just morons.

There is no war between Israel and Lebanon. It is between Israel and Hezbollah.

Here I will explain it:

Hezbollah is a group that is kind of like 'stationed' in Lebanon. Some consider them a terrorist group but not like Al Qu. because they focus on Israel much like the Palestines. They also play a role in the Lebanese government.

Israel was at war with the Hez. group up until 1994 (date is somewhere around there) when they had a sieze fire. If I'm not mistaken Clinton was involved in that.

Ok now, basically out of nowhere Hez. comes across the Israeli border and kidnaps some soldiers then commences to start sending a few missiles into Israel's 3rd largerst city.

Israel then used it's air force to start bombing the Hez. main base in Lebanon. When you use bombs from planes, like we did in Iraq, you end up with a lot of collateral damage... innocent ppl dieing. So, this has gotten the actual lebanese ppl ticked off too because a lot of non-Hez. are dieing.

Also, the weapons that Hez. suddenly seems to have (the aerial missiles) appear to all be coming from Iran. Some are suspecting Syria is supporting them also. This is complicating the issue enormously.

Lastly, the most current problem is that Israel is no longer willing to just accept the return of its soldiers. They are now so ticked off and tired of this repeating itself that they are talking about not quitting until Hez. is completely disarmed and demobilized. I heard this myself tonight right out of the mouth of Dan Gillerman, Israeli ambassador to the UN, in a Charlie Rose interview on PBS.

So, this basically means WW3.

Hezbollah guerillas crossed the border by sowing terror in Israel and retreated to Lebanon where they were pursued by the Israelis. Thus, the present day Middle East crisis.

Israel kidnapped two civilians first.
Hez. retaliated by kidnapped three soldiers. That set this particular war off.. officially at least, but there's always more to the story.

This has been going on for ages. Israel has been holding palestinians in jail for years without charge (much like guantanamo) and palestinians have been sending suicide bombers.

The whole flaming thing started ages ago when Britain neglected its mandate to "supervise" the region.
