I am currently reading a novelized biography of Sigmund Freud. We think of him as a two dimensional character - just stating things. Yet, there must have been life experiences that led him to his theories. The book goes slowly through what Freud had experienced that gave him his ideas and how his practice changed over time.
He wasn't born a psycologist with all his theories intact in his head. It is a very interesting read. The author is Irving Stone, an excellent writer who focuses on these biographies of famous people - Van Gogh, Michelangelo, etc.

I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb. I can't really describe this book cause it's so good, but I can tell you what others are saying.

I Know This Much Is True, a heartbreaking and poignant multigenerational saga of the reproductive bonds of destruction and the powerful force of forgiveness. A masterpiece that breathtakingly tells a story of alienation and connection, power and abuse, devastation and renewal--this novel is a contemporary retelling of an ancient Hindu myth. A proud king must confront his demons to achieve salvation. Change yourself, the myth instructs, and you will inhabit a renovated world.

I just finished reading Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood and I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend that one...
Or if you're into adventure novels (like I am) you could pick up a Clive Cussler book. I love all his books :)
I had to read Anthem by Ayn Rand for school and I actually thought it was a REALLY good book, so if you haven't read that one I would highly recommend it...its pretty short.
And if you haven't read All the Kings Men...read it. Just read it.
Uhh, thats all lol.

It's young adult historical fiction - but it was an excellent book called Tulsa Burning - basic premise - there was a time that the Black portion of Tulsa was known as the Black Wall Street of America - the interesting tidbit from the author - she tried to find out as much information as he could and the old newspapers had clipped all articles of the decimation of the district out. I'm sorry I can't tell you the author's name off the top of my sleepy brain. I got it off ebay - my Mom's a librarian for a high school in TX, so sent it to her to put in their inventory. I read it in the length of a movie -so it was a quick and very interesting read.
