Yes , we do. I am a russian male. I don't know persons younger than me or a bit elder who do not have internet access at home. May be some elder persons do not need it. Russia is on the 14th place in the world by number in internet users with 10 million 833 thousand users(according to comScore Networks' research, an american company).

Russia is not so poor, the average sallary in Moscow is higher than in many Eastern European countries some of which are EU member states (like Estonia etc), and I don't know a young Russian who wants to buy and cannot afford a computer, maybe u can find someone, but I doubt that...
And russian economy is growing very fast nowdays, those talks that Russia is 'poor' are talks of at least 10 years old... It is not poor nowdays, and will not be in future.

What about people who live far away from big cities, I know for sure they have home internet accesses, but I dunno which technology they use to get connected.

The main cities are Moscow and St. Petersburg, the rest r just suburbs, even I don't go there, so forget about them, Russia = Moscow :-))

I'd say probably only 10% of Russians have an internet access. maybe even less. People are poor and they can't even afford to have a PC at home, let alone an internet connection, which is really slow and you have to pay for "traffic" that is the amount of megabytes you download. So I'd say a situation with internet in russia is really bad)))

People do have access to the internet at home in most cities and towns. it is much slower in small towns and is still not as affordable as in the states.
The big cities of Russia are:
Moscow, St. Peterburg, Tula, Razan', Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Vladivistok, Krasnoyarsk - these are just some that come to my mind.

the vast majority of Russians don't have Internet access at home. try the old-fashioned letters.

some people in russia have internet access, just like some people in america have internet access. the cities that are far away and are remotly located, probably have less internet users than people who live in big cities such as moscow and st. pertersberg.

In Moscow and St.Petersburg, most young people have internet and a lot of older people when it is needed for their work. In areas with no telephone service, some people use GPRS internet through their mobiles. And I've been to one very small island where people seem to live in the 16th century, and there was one guy dressed in 12th century style clothes, who had a desktop, a laptop, a digital camera, two printers, all that stuff, and INTERNET! Wow! And he cooks food in a stove you would otherwise see only on the History channel

We do have Interenet access in Russia everywhere: at home, city libraries, Internet cafes, hotels and many other places. Why should we be any different than the rest of the world?

some do. but the economy in Russia is AWFUL...so most ppl are struggling to pay for heat...let alone an ISP connection.

ppl that live far from each other use the TRAIN to go see their friends and family. broke country....most ppl don't own a car.

as for major cities....Odessa, Moscow, Kiev, St. Petersburg, Veronezh, to name a few.
