How do you format a ReWritable CD?

Trying to save a spreadsheet to disc, as I've no floppy on laptop.

Use this software which is used for CD's and DVD's

its called NERO

try to download it from :

or

http://www.freewarefiles.com

and after that you can format you ReWritable CD and make it back to new...

the above ways work but as you asked about formating a disc
below is how to do it with nero
incd is not installed by default
to install go add /remove programs click on change (need disc in drive)
search on the menu that comes up for incd (tick it) then follow instructions
after reboot you will see a extra icon in system tray open it
you will then open the program
you will need a cd/rw or a dvd/rw in drive
click format cd or dvd

For that you can use a pen drive as well. Anyway I'll tell you simple steps which you can use in any Windows OS.

Click START > RUN
Type Command or cmd
DOS prompt window will come
(type CD\ as shown with no spaces) in C:\ what ever directory is there>cd\ (then hit enter button)
(\ = Root)
Now you should be in the below mentioned prompt
C:\>
Now type
C:\>format E: (then hit enter button)[E: is just an example donno what drive it is at your end.]

It will format the CD RW Drive

Dont use Nero burning or windows formating option as it will change the Partition type if you press a wrong click.

U can't format a rewritable cd u can erase the data on it and make the disc as a new one. there are tools to erase the data on ur rewritable cd in the cd writing software itself.

You can't format, but if you have a cdburning program like Nero, you can erase the ReWritable CD

Start menu>my computer> then find CD drive, right click,should be a format option.

If u have software like nero try "Erase" option..
else from xp browse the cd and on right click u can get the optino to erase the disk..

The option is also available on the Left panel to the browser..
