nah. if reality is subjective, why can't we envision a color we've never seen before? We can't because reality exists, and our perceptions only serve to help us experience this reality. Our perceptions must have a base in reality of some sort, or else we wouldn't perceive that reality, just like we are unable to imagine the color that doesn't exist.

The world what we see is not because the way it is. It is becuase you want to see that way. The first answerer told a half truth as we think too much(it is a half truth because most of the time it is not intentional). What if we stop thinking? We will be straight in touch with the sub-atomic particles and we can operate from that subtle level as you told correctly. But, with perceptions, your control on sub-atomic particle is not a visible reality nor you will be in a position to see at its subtle level. Stoppage of thinking and making perception is not suppressing both that is again a perception. But, it is a state where there is no desire to know or forget or un-learn. It is a state where you will see the impact of each thought, and the action arising out of that thought and the reaction to that action. If your brain also using a force for or against whatever is happening now, then your mind cannot be still/thoughtless to see that fluid reality and at which level it operates and what are all the factors influences it. One thing definitely you will have to accept is not just current perception which makes the things fluid, but all past and future perception also got importance along with many other factors...you make your mind still/perceptionless, then you can see the act of each factors....

What you apparently think is new is actually centuries old.
Of course perception 'bends' reality. Perception *is* reality, as far as any description or characterization of reality goes. This was argued in the 18th century by Immanuel Kant.
What you are so impressed by is just another version of Idealism. Look it up.

Humans always pride themselves to be a higher species because of their ability to think and make decisions. In my opinion, the ability to think is starting to get in the way of our lives. Because people think, and everyone think differently, quarrels and fights are started. Because people think, their school essays get discredited; students are not supposed to think, they are supposed to 'think' like people of the past who had written some books or some form of evidence and include those in the essays. Because people think, those who don't think have to conform to the ideas of the former. Because people think, they cannot come to a decision about some things and it will always be there, never-ending, never gonna be solved. Because people think. Too much in fact. Wouldn't it be good if everyone just do things without thinking too much? Go for it. On impulse. On instinct. Would that make things better? Look what has all the thinking done to us. Yes, we have the technology, the entertainment and everything else which people of the past did not have but we no longer have the simplicity in people. I'm not saying that people in the past did not think but they were smarter. They don't think so much. What's the point of thinking so much and still no conclusion and decision could be made? Doesn't that make you feel worse?
Bottomline: we think too much. Don't k. To whoever this is applicable to.

I would agree. Your thoughts become your reality. Think positive, and then you'll see that your life lightens up. Think negative, and bad things happen to you. Reality is anything you want it to be. Collectively, as a planet of thinkers, we can change the course of the war. It's just a matter of everyone thinking on the same page.

I would say that perhaps you should pay heed to a suggestion made many years ago, by Lily Tomlin's "Bag Lady".
"What IS reality, anyway?
Nothin' but a collective hunch!"
