For me, i heard it when i was 16 years old. My friend told me that she kissed a guy(who likes her) in the lift and her kiss is quite sweet. But then a few days later she said she was sick of him, coz she heard that the guy masturbate!
I have no idea what does this vocab mean at that time; But since my friend said it is disgusting, i assume that it is a very bad thing to do...
Till now, after i got know the real meaning, i can not help to laugh at me that how i misunderstood lol

Heard this word at about age 13...but it was about 2 years too late...had started at age 11 :-) Was glad to hear that there was a word for this action other than what the guys called it at school.
