If you're still using the dial up connection I suggest you don't delete it, instead you make the broadband connection the default connection and select option in Tools>Internet Options>Connections>Always dial my default connection

You don't connect! You are already connected if you have set it up correctly. Just delete the dial-up connection and just open your browser and you are already connected. I hope this has been explained to you by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) You'll still need a log-on name and password but once it's set up you don't have to worry about any more unless you want to change it.
