She was not a great player, but she was still okay. She was ranked higher than she should've been. She didn't win that many tournaments and always came up short. She never won a major, but made it to the semis in Wimbledon one year. She was always doing modeling and worrying about how she looked insteasd of playing tennis. She is a pleasure to watch because of her looks not her skill. She 186 - 124 for her career in 310 matches. 96-63 on hardcourt, 45-29 on clay, 16-7 on grass, and 29-25 on carpet. Indoors she was 45-40 and outdoors she was 141-84. She was 40-22 in Grand Slams. Her highest singles ranking was #8 in the world (2000). Her highest doubles ranking was #1 in the world (1999). She retired after 2002 due to injuries.

Yes she was a great tennis player. Her game was overshadowed by her looks. Even though she never won a Singles Title, she was very successful in doubles. She teamed with former #1 ranked Martina Hingis to win many Grand Slams for doubles. In singles, she was a semifinalist in Wimbledon and a quarterfinalist at the Australian Open. She once beat Steffi Graff in singles to dethrone Steffi's grass winning streak.

she had the talent, the game to be a great player, but the big bucks came too quickly and she just didn't have the drive to focus on her tennis. just as well, she had a really terrible attitude, she was not a pleasant kid to be around. there are a lot of stories about her, even as an 11, 12 year old. in sharp contrast to sharapova in fact.

No, she is really, really horrible. You'll hear that a lot. She's pretty much in there because she has "a great body". I'm trying to figure out why she isn't a model of some sort.

umm shes ok, i've been playing tennis for a long time,tournament level and member of USTA.but there are much better players then people with looks. i mean sure she brings the game, but she also brings her fakemakeup!so i dont know on this one,yes and nooo.

I don't know the stats but she's never won anything big. She's made a name for herself by exposing her boobies, and frankly it pisses me off that a woman in sports has to do that to get attention from the media when so many work harder and achieve more.

Definitely has the talent. Very succesful at doubles.
She was distracted by the fame though and I hear that she also smoked cigarettes.
Bottom line, if she was more focused she would have kicked ***.

She was a good doubles player. I don't think her heart was in playing.
