Why do ppl lie and say a kid is cute when its just ugly?
I wouldnt say anything.

Dont get so defensive, I am saying if the kid is ugle maybe just not lie to the mother by saying the kid is cute.

You are not the only one. All babies are hideous. I for one hate it when my food is not... wait. Um, no I do not eat babies...often. Um, can we forget this ever happened? Thanks.

Because when you say nothing there's that awkward silence. It's easier to lie and say what a cute baby, and let the dumb parents live on in ignorance than to say nothing and have them eventually ask you why you don't like their baby. It's not that I don't like your baby, it's just that I think it's effing ugly. And I agree all babies are NOT cute. I have seen some ugly smeagle-faced brats...but just think of that thing saying "my precious" and you sorta smile and laugh...it makes the lie all the more believable.

You have to remember parents are very protective of their children.
Even if you don't think the baby is cute, the parents think this is the most beautiful baby in the world.
Because of that, it's always better to proclaim aloud, how cute the baby is or don't put yourself in the position of having to say anything, avoid all people with baby's.
To be honest, I have seen some really ugly baby's.

No. Not all people think all babies are cute, but they also don't want to hurt the parent's feelings either. If I see a baby that is not cute I make a fuss over it anyway to make the other parent feel better. Sometimes babies that are not all that cute grow up to be totally gorgeous.

As a former infant teacher for 13 years, I certainly saw a lot of ugly babies, but most of them turn out to be cute when they get a lot older. I won't tell someone that their baby is cute if I don't think it is, but I do find something nice to say. For instance you can say. "That dress sure does look cute on the baby," or "I can see that the baby has his daddy's eyes," or "I bet she will be just as cute as her big sister when she gets bigger."

No you are not the only one that feels that way. I have seen some stright up butt ugly baby's in my time, but you have to take pitty on the parents and just use the word cute, and smile. Someone has to be nice at that point.

the mother will think the baby is cute just because it is her child. if others didnt say anything, the mom might wonder why no one ever comments on how cute her baby is. plus, many think a baby is cute just because it is so small and helpless. you dont have to comment on the baby if you dont want, but if the mother asks if you think the baby is cute, dont insult her if you like your teeth!

Not all babies are cute right away due to birth trama, but they deserve manners.
So smile, say the baby is cute to the mother, gush over it, and be a decent human being.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. that's an old saying, but so true. A newborn or even toddler might appear ugly to you, or to me, but when I see their mom and dad look at them so admiringly, then I see that they think it's beautiful, then I see the beauty too, just from them. Never say a baby is ugly, because to others, it's a beauty.

i work in on a birthing unit and i will be the first to testify that all babies are NOT cute! if i look at a baby that is cute, i will say so but if it is not cute i just say, "oh, he's precious" cuz even though they aren't all cute they are still special and precious. it's kinda funny though, in 3 years i've only had one mom say "isn't she so cute??" and her baby was probably one of the ugliest i've seen! haha

I agree.
Newborns are ugly, and violet, and wrinkled.
I love kids. And those newborns probably will be very pretty in a couple of months. But they are not cute in the first months. And they don't resemble anyone.
