That's what I mean Natalie Rose. My fiance has already threatened that he will have a heart attack if I get a job because he can take care of us. He said he'll become quite the pest! Not that I don't love the idea of being pampered for a little while :)

I know what you mean! But its his baby in there too and he wants what is best. My boyfriend monitors my eating like a mad man, he will go to the store everyday to try and find something better and better for me to eat. Its adorable, I kinda like the added attention too! FEELS GOOD!

Well, let's assume for sake of argument that you're talking about the man that made the woman pregnant. IT'S BECAUSE HIS CHILD IS IN HER BELLY. HE WANTS HIS CHILD TO LIVE. SO HE WANTS TO PROTECT THE WOMAN TO PROTECT THE CHILD.
Freaking duh.
Apologies if you're the pregnant woman, in which case you have enough hormones going through your body that NOTHING is obvious. Just get the WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING book. Read everything. Then make him read it to. If he won't, read the fatherhood section out loud to him as a bedtime story.

Its because, since they can carry the baby, they try to protect you so they are sure you'll be find, is a way to show you they care

just human nature they dont want anyone else having them same as a g/f or wife just being pregnant they are protecting 2 ppl so they are more guarded

uhhh... because men don't want their children(especially if its a son)to get hurt or have diseases etc. short-range speaking, we men want our babies to be born as perfectly normal as possible. of course thats what I think... :)
