Because we have the fear of losing friends but we know family will always with us. And its the law of nature, scarcity is always in demand.

Yes but that does not mean automatic unconditional love. You choose your friends, in a sense they are extensions of yourself, you have no choice or say as to who you are related to. Since your friends are more likely to have stuff in common with you, and you probably get along better with them as well, it would seem natural that you would like/love them better than some family members. Of course parents will always be special....

Good question! I don't think this is unusual. Our family will always have a certain place in our heart that cannot be taken away, but our friends are persons we choose who fulfil another need of our heart that is a part of our experience in discovering who we are, what we value, and with whom we share common ground.

sometimes our family members become too possessive, sometimes they just don't seem to understand us and at that time friends seem to be our only refuge but never forget that family is more important than friends
