A galaxy is a group of systems, like the solar system. It can have many shapes. Our galaxy is called The Milky Way. If I remember, the Milky Way is a spiral galaxy.

the milky way is not the only galaxy, its just one of billions of other galaxies,

it would take a 100000 light years to travel just to its centre of the milky way, that means it would take more than 450000000 years just to go to the center in a space craft,

and our closest neighbouring galaxy is the andromeda galaxy, it is sometimes visible to the nacked eye and it is a spiral galaxy, and what do you get at the center of a galaxy?? A SUPER MASSIVE BLACK HOLE, the deadliest force in nature, still a mystery to science!!

a large cluster of stars is know as an galaxy.see there are hundreds thousands million of stars in a galaxy and there hundred thousand million galaxies in the universe.see galaxies contains solar system stars etc.remember it contains solar system also.our galaxy's name is milky way.it is in spiral shape.if you look it from sideways our galaxy looks like a disc.so now did you understand the meaning of galaxy?understood i am really very happy.
