May I ask why can't you tell him? Is it because you are shy or afraid of rejection? There is nothing to be afraid of; just tell him how you feel. You never know; he may have a crush on you too.

1.First of all it is important that how you know him... is he your neighbour or colegue or in your college or school.
2.Than it is important that why do u like him....e.g. for his looks or generosity or intelligence or etc.
3.And the most important thing is to ask yourself whether this is infatuation or real love.
This can be evaluated by the first two questions I wrote.
All I can tell right now is to get closer to him generally e.g. by the answer of question1. then try to know his likes and dislikes... sometimes praise him etc. then try to get alone with him in some public places like restuarant, parks etc.
Do this and if you r really in love, I am sure he will know by ur gestures than u may ask him what type of girls he likes and finally get courage to tell him .
