How many people do you think are rotting in jail cells across the country for this exact same type of incident? Where I come from, they call it vehicular manslaughter, but apparently if you are rich and in Texas, it's not even worth filing charges over....

Jimmy Pete - I just love conservatives like you who talk all tough on crime, until it turns out you are the ones who committed the crime. Then suddenly "feeling bad about it", is punishment enough. Typical right-wing hypocrite.

mike - wrong-o. Getting in a traffic accident where someone dies is not a crime. Causing a death due to RECKLESS DRIVING is VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER. Look it up in a law dictionary, dum-dum. She ran a stop sign. That is reckless drive. Criteria met. End of story. Go tell you lies somewhere else.

More Mike - And I love how you happen to know a "few" girls who all happened to kill someone while driving, while all getting off uncharged. Do the right-wingers even try to make their lies believable any more?

wow I'm not surprised. I mean it takes one to know one.. meaning she did marry a mass murderer.

That is not vehicular manslaughter, I know a few girls that went through that very same thing. None of them faced any jailtime. It happens a lot and most people do not end up "rotting in jail" unless they do it on purpose, and even that has to be proven in this country's court system.

This is not some rich girl getting her way, this is the way it is supposed to work in America's legal system for anyone.

yes the courts are so uneven in their punishments.
in Iowa today they just gave some guy who was driving at 95 mph on country roads and killed a 16yr boy old probation...It was a plea bargain deal and the family of the dead kid was NOT impressed...plus they didn't know how long to suspend his license because that is a different jurisdiction....It stinks...some people go to jail for a long long time and others get 'probation' which is nothing more than a joke...so you have to wear an ankle bracelet...the punk in court today who blamed God for HIS recklessness should go to jail ...but I don't run the world.
This really upset me earlier... Makes me want to do something in protest some how.

For " Jimmy Pete Joe Bob" who said "I'm sure she feels real good about it too!! You liberal moron!! "

Ted Kennedy probably feels real good about his wreck too, but you right wing turds can't seem to let that go. So I guess it's alright for good god fearing republicans to kill people, but when other people do it, that's wrong!
And for the other well educated, well informed republican who said Kennedy was never charged either. GUESS WHAT! Wrong again, as usual. He went to court and walked out a free man. Now here's a great opportunity for another right wing wacko to say that his money got him off. Come on boys... I know you're dieing to say it.

This is Old news, very old for that matter; we kill almost as many people in traffic accident every year (42,000) as we lost in all of Vietnam (58,000). While it is not the point of your question, I think we need to do allot more to minimize the traffic fatalities in the US. As far a politics are concerned, well now they have to get off Ted Kennedy's butt for Chappaquiddick.

no surprise to me! after all her husband is SKULL&BONES! they tortured small animals and practiced witch craft and satanic rituals. george w. bush is a professed alcoholic that has had a dui and also openly used cocaine until his late 30s. no wonder our country is in such a hell of a mess. i am sure ole george and even laura may make good party buddies, but running our country should be done by someone else not the shrub family!!!!!!!!!!

If that rumor is true, you are generally not charged with a crime due to a traffic accident, unless you were drunk.

She was underaged, for one thing. Why aren't you more concerned about an ELECTED OFFICIAL who killed his date out in the country where there were no witnesses?
