I dont think the valve arrangment would be the problem on most . There are a few diesel motorcycles out there but not very popular. And the diesel engine has a very limited power range.

GM did this to their 350 gas block, turning it into a diesel which was put in cars and Suburbans. I think it was around 1986 or so. The motor was a total peice of crap, blowing head gaskets due to head bolts bottoming out and not giving an accurate torque reading. The fix was to shorten the head bolts by about .060 inches to give a true torque reading. But the public had no confidence in the engine and eventually it was not manufactured anymore.

Its not possible to convert, and most standard crankshafts couldn't take the extra force. some people have put diesel engines into bike frames, using engines from construction plant but there is always the problem of connecting the gearbox. a new engine would need a separate gearbox and only Enfield have kept a separate gearbox for their bikes
