Keep in mind that it is Elitists who control politics and the media.

With the push in todays movies with many of the themes including a strong warrior type male having sex with multiple females at the same time as in the movie "Troy" with Brad Pitt, and many others, AND with the plots of these movies being war/battle, is the media pushing us forth, into the barbaric past?

It seems to me quite probable that we, as a society, are being led backwards in time so that nature can replace nurture. Nature being barbaric and nurture being civilization.

It makes sense because the elitists are no longer that elite with regular people becoming smart enough to earn large amounts of money and to have servants of their own. The extreme elite are threatened for their long-term family status the more regular folk come into power. Money is power.

I know this was a deep/strange/random question, but I would appreciate your thoughts?

G-Bear, I see you are new to the "Enlightenment" arena. Well, soon enough you too will realize that is nothing more than intellectual propaganda. Don't feel bad, I bought it for a while myself. Then I realized that life is more than thinking death is safe.

Elitists definitely have had huge influence on the media, politics, and economics. However, it isn't so much the question as to whether elitists influence the media and such, but more of a question of what their intentions really are. You see, if the elitist does control the media, but oppresses the people - then this is bad. But if the elitist does his/her best to help the people, then the elitist remains in power not by force, but by willful respect given by the people.

Sadly, the latter rarely happens anymore. Power, money, and influence seems to corrupt those in control...they just seem to grow cold and love to exert tyrrany against everyone. This I am against. Tell me your thoughts if you get the chance.

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

Yes, or true, but this is not new great many romanticize the past mostly with no rational thought of what it was or would be really like. This is not new and will as far as I can see always be a popular entertainment theme. I almost never see Pock marked characters in historic movies but small pocks was rampant and people with scared faces quite common.

I can't really see Brad Pitt in "Troy" as part of a conspiracy. I realize there is self-sustaining "east coast elite" in the US, but then there's new elites rising all the time. Oprah wasn't born to privilege, but she sure is part of the media elite now.

I find your "Nature vs Nurture" comment to be somewhat erroneous..as this society is anything BUT nurturing...in fact..i find that more primitive cultures have an even more profound sense of family and life.

MONEY isn't power.....Education will separate us all..soon enough..and I'm not talking College smarts....I'm talking what you are able to know..to feel..to discern....without aid of anyone or anything.

THAT..is real power!
