i use an old fashion hot water bottle (just like gramma used to have). you can get one at target or a drug store. i put it on my lower abdomen and just kick back and relax. i try not to take medication if i don't have to but on occassion, i'll take women's tylenol.

The week before your period, make sure to get lots of calcium, drink lots of water, avoid salt and caffeine. Exercise regularly and even during your period, take a warm bath or put a heating pad on you stomach. If it still hurts take a pain killer.

Before you are going to get your period exercises, that will ease cramps before they start. A hot bath, and a painkiller or a heating pad will work.

birth control helped me a lot. also chocolate and heating pads. Thermacare has these heating things specifically for women that are great- you can wear one under your clothes.
