TRUST is the number one indicator and rarest nowadays when it comes to friendship. No matter how you tried to convince yourself, well, your instinct will be the one to decide. Also when you have bad experiences from your first encounter with such person, you need to set these aside and still try to go on with your friendship. Sooner or later, you will finally discover the true color of the person..... as whether trustable or not. I hope you will find a trustworthy one. May GOD lead you the way and help you to find a better one.
Take care and GOD BLESS US ALL.

You have to trust yourself, believe in yourself and know about your own loyalty before you question another soul or person.
You are a soul. The body which houses your soul is your vehicle and the one which makes this life of you as Soul possible. Therefore by trusting yourself, believing in yourself and being loyal to yourself, you acknowledge and underline the fact that you are a child of the universal consciousness governed by the Supreme Consciousness, called God.
When you have acheived this, you are ready to discover this and encounter it in anything you choose to relate to. Trust loyalty are offshoots of belief and faith. These qualities attitudes are based on Jnana which is a sanskrit word which loosely translates to knowledge. This knowledge is cumulative. It is garnered through eons of births and rebirths. To be a human being is a honor and prestige which is bestowed to all who have this knowledge.
You have to be a proud recepient of this honor and live the life you have chosen. When you are in this state and reach this level of proficiency you can discover and know trust loyalty when you meet it or encounter it.
These attributes have to be acquired and worked on ardously. You must have faith and belief in every creation, and every living creature. Recognize and see the soul in them. This perception will enable you to discover and know the trustworthiness and the loyalty of the person who confronts you.

Excellent question! We all want to trust someone, but who can be trusted? The word trust is defined, "Firm reliance on the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing."
The safest answer is, "no one" can be perfectly trusted to be loyal. There is no one who has perfect integrity, ability, or character. Though intentions are good and the desire on both parties is to be trustworthy; we all are vulnerable to failure.
Today I may be steadfast in my allegiance to my homeland, government, or sovereign; faithful to a person, ideal, custom, cause, or duty, (dictionary) but tomorrow, I may change.
How then should I conduct myself? My conduct should always be with wisdom as to how much I open to any human confident.
I know there is only One who is truly trustworthy. In the Bible, the book of Proverbs, chapter 3, verses 5 and 6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct Thy path."
Psalm 34:8
"O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him."
There are many, many verses in the Bible about putting our trust in the Lord. I hope this has answered your question.

You need time to find it out. My best friend and I almost reed in each others mind. And you can be sure when the person is next to you in a big trouble (especially when evryone think you're mad).

Time is the only true indicator. When the bad times come, if the person is still there for you, you will get your answer.
