It's funny when my son was born so many years ago, I was told to have him sleep on his stomach because they said if he puked in his sleep on his back he could choke.
Then when I had my middle child, it was put her on her back because she could suffocate on her stomach.
I wish they'd make up their minds lol
Anyway, the middle one was a bit colic-y and she insisted on sleeping in her baby swing or her car seat when she felt bad. It seemed to comfort her and the doctor said as long as she was safe and happy to let her do it.

Whenever my son was in the hospital, they had these little things, kind of like a cloth snugli type thing. They elevated the head of the bed, and put him in it. It had straps that they tied to the head of the bed so he wouldn't slip down. Weirdest thing I have ever seen. But it worked, lol. And I have one of the positioner things for my 2 month old. This one is adjustable and the sides are a little rigid, so it's very hard for them to work their way to their tummy. I think I got it from wal-mart, and it's made by Safety 1st.

Actually VERY recent studies suggest NOT to use the side positioners because the baby can work its way over on their tummy, causing SIDS. The best thing to do is to get a wedge, or a pillow and place it under the matress to prop it up. My son had acid reflux and this is what we had to do for him.

DON'T put your baby to sleep on his/her side, you'll increase the risk of SIDS!
The best way to help your baby through colicky times is motion and movement. A swinging or rocking crib is best. Hope this helps!

When our kids were babies we always put them on their sides. We also elevated the head of their bed. Never had any troubles with colic. ONLY constipation & diaper rash.

Get a sling and wear your baby durung the day. You can still get a lot done, and they sleep so much better at night. They love movement!
