He sure has influenced me over the years... especially The Birth of Tragedy, where he explores aesthetics in terms of the balancing and/or contrasting of the Apollonian and Dionysian tendencies.

To answer that requires a 30 page essay lol. I would expect most people to relate to the Dionysian because it is an expression of human nature and is therefore more likely to be expressed in art, if for no other reason than that it's easier to access and relate to.. Personally, I think that the abstract, or rational thought is harder to express in fine art, which in turn would make it more worthy of an artist's attention, if the artist's objective is to bring that appolonian principle (interpreted) to the people to highten their level of understanding.

Practically it does not influence art at all. However Nietzsche did foresee a trend in art.
Modern art combines Dionysian and Apollonian very well. Movies and Musicales are the perfect examples. Always moving, explosions everywhere, people dancing all around, yet -- very well structured with a linear and often simplistic plot. What better to exemplify Nietzsche's ideal?

P.S.
Keep in mind that Nietzsche, later in life, disavowed his early works, including "the birth of tragedy" and his ties to Wagner.
