Question regarding thermal imaging?

does thermal imaging let us see objects in intense light from a considerable distance?

It may, depending on the nature of that background light, and what do you mean by intense. Even with lazer as background, if there is enough difference between the background light and the light, you can see still it.

No. I believe it has to do with tempature of an object compared to the background
