MY call is F1 because in NASCAR all you do is turn left. (f1 is real racing not like that stuff)

I think you have stirred a hornets nest with this one! Good question!!!
I am an F1 fan so I'd obviously go with F1 requiring more skill. The power to weight ratio of the cars is mind blowing not to mention the downforce. SO much downforce that they could drive upside down! The tyres being specifically manufactured for the type of racing as well as technology that is almost futuristic. And the drivers have to keep all that on the road. Of course NASCAR has more play and slide or whatever but the drivers in F1 don't let the cars get out of control because they are that damn good! The G-forces experienced in F1 are from all angles because of the circuits they drive on not like NASCAR as you say going round and round and round and round and round... I give the NASCAR drivers one thing though. They certainly know how NOT to get dizzy!

Wow, this isn't as easy as one might think. All nascar engines, brakes, car weight ect are standardized, whereas formulas are not. In f1 competitions, basically whoever has the most money for a car wins. But think about this-formula races are more challenging at first glance, but have an open "cab" if you will. Now why do I mention this? The inside of a car in a NASCAR event has been known to climb to well over 120 degrees. Do you think you could do 500 laps in a full-leather jumsuit in that high of temp? In an F1, the wind hits the driver, thus acting as a cooling system. So, driving-skill-wise,formula 1. Endurance and stamina, nascar.

An F1 car require much more finesse to set up properly. Extremely small margins make huge differences. Yes, both require immense skill, stamina (a 3hr 500 mile race vs. 2 hr GP- how about doing a 6hr endurance race solo?). To really compare, try how they do when they meet in the middle- endurance racing. Daytona, Le Mans etc. Both sets of drivers have done well there. But NASCAR is not just sit down turn left and pray.

I am unbias.

I'd have to go with Formula 1. Something about turning left all the time.

In nascar, youre going at a constant 200 mph. In f1, you might be going 160 one moment, 70 one, and back up to 180.
Wouldn't it be eaiser to control a stock car because of all the weight as compared to an open wheel car.

I agree with in NASCAR, you have to have endurance.

NASCAR. Several reasons. 1) Average sustained speeds are greater. 2) Traffic. You are always dealing with cars trying to pass you, or lapped cars, or both, for the whole race, and side-by-side racing 3) Stock cars by their own crude design(as opposed to F1) are far more unstable / loose, sluggish response, and tank-like weight. 4) Length of time concentration is required, in 100+ degree cockpit temperatures.
5) The oval tracks themselves. You road-race fans must realize that there IS some time to relax your mind on most road courses. Ovals DO NOT allow this by their basic design. You drive an oval "on the edge" ALL the time, where as a road course is, because of their design a series of compromises, and therefore there are parts of the track you do not have to be "on the edge" as precisely as an oval. An oval, which seems simplistic at first look, is less forgiving than a multiple turned road course. My answer is derived from asking this very question of drivers who have done, and won, in both venues. Christian Fittipaldi, and next year Juan Pablo Montoya, will prove me right. I guarantee it!

NASCAR...the cars have more play, more sliding, more feel to it. NASCAR also has road courses that turn right and left...

There was a expedition a while back where NASCAR and F1 drivers raced together..the NASCAR drivers did well in the F1 type cars...but the F1 drivers did horribly in the stock cars.

Nascar involves more skill. One mistake and you're into the wall. Bumper to Bumper racing 90% of the time.

In F1, if you make a mistake, 50% of the time you will be able to rejoin a few places back.

F1 cars being almost totally controlled by computer systems and nascar being controlled by a driver you figure it out. F1 drivers rarely do good in any other type of car I wonder why. Their cars drive themselves they just do what the computer tells them to do. Yeah thats real racing, if IRL ever gets that far I will quit watching that as well

I say f1 also. I wish the race courses were more open though in f1, higher speeds, more passing room and such. I don't really watch it because it is kind of boring. I don't watch nascar either though.
