Is it possible for 2 people to be in love that have 41 years in age between them? And also be related? I know of a situation like this and it is troubling me and I need some input to help them out if it's possible.....

this is a married cousin who confided in me that his neice admitted to him that she is in love with him. No nothing has happened nor will it. He simply said he felt something for her. I unfortunately was brought in to it from his confidence. It troubled me as I have never had this situation presented to me before and I can't get it out of my mind as even though he said he isn't pursuing this, I think of what the neice must be going through as well. She doesn't know that I am aware and I don't believe I want her to either........its a touchy subject as one that I can see is not understood readily by most, including me......

Sounds like they really shouldn't have those feelings!

Hmm... it can be a totally weird thing in the eyes of society. I'd rather say she might be manipulating him, which is not good..... 41 years, goodness!!!

That situation is somehow a "non-equal" one, I am afraid.
To love and protect someone is fine ... but to wish for more is not a good idea in this case. There are two generations between them, after all... one could be the grandparent of the other one!!!
What is this..... paedophilia and incest combined, or what???!

No, I don't think so.
It might be just a very strong emotional attachment which is good, after all. We often love our grandparents more than our parents because they have more free time for us, more patience ... and both generations need a lot of attention - attention they can only get from each other in the best form.
My opinion is that the older one should watch her or his own actions and words ..... and let the young one free.
He or she (the young one) has a lot of things coming up in life. Staying in the way of that is selfish.
However, support and advice is very much needed in every stage of our lives - just give and don't ask anything in return..... this is what an elderly person should do.

You need to read the book saints and liars. It has the same sort of situation in it then you will know what to do.

possible...but personally I am worried how long it will work...the elder one can easily understand my concern & what I am talking about.
