Well it is the person choice forgive to forget and the let go.
Most people have had bad childhoods and from that learn so many lessons for life.
It is persons choice if they want to be happy in life, no one can make them happy
Same goes for angry people it is their choice to be angry.
You can hold on to it, or you can make the choice to let it go.
Meditation is a good way to get in touch with your inner self.
That's the only advice I have to give I hope it helps : )
Love & Blessings
Milly

Age 14 and up was a fast trip down a rough hill - the worst was actually a bad marriage at 20 - I was a very beaten and battered wife - he was twice my age and had been a Vietnam POW and when he had flashbacks, I was the POW, I had pretty much put it behind me as when I divorced at 23, I knew I had a choice - be bitter or go on - well, 12 weeks ago my Dr. put me on a medication that brought all the PTSD out and in a rage - I reinacted many activities of abuse and torture that I had been subjected too - so as much as I thought I had forgotten or at least had put it aside and made a wise choice to not be bitter and go on - a drug released its deadly poison - and I actually have found it within me now to realize it was a poison, and I had bottled and capped it - maybe somewhere along the way if I had shared the atrocities I had gone through - I would not have major depression or PTSD or a host of other mental illnesses that I require medication for (that particular drug was discontinued) - but who's to say - either way, I did choose to use the situation to reach out and help those who have been in similar situations. Our local police dept. knows that if the shelter for battered women is full, I always have a guest room available and ready - recently a woman was brought with every digit of every thumb and finger broken and her wrist - I sat up and cried with her and for her when the pain pills finally knocked her out - they couldn't even begin to do surgery until the next day and she wasn't safe to keep in the hospital and we're a small town, so it's not like they could give her police protection there. That's where I came in. I may never see her again, but she knew for a few lucid moments that she was in hands that had fully understood what she was feeling and sometimes that is the most comfortable sedative we can be given - other than the forgiveness of Jesus Christ.

At least one in five of us. I love this poem by Philip Larkin:
They f..k you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
But they were ****** up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.
Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don't have any kids yourself.

I had a terrible childhood and I wish I could undo it and recreate all the things that I have lost out on.

do you mean bad as in my parents beat me with belts and paddles. and yelled and screamed at me when i got in trouble. or like how every older kid at school took turns kicking the crud out of me at recess. or how i was to smart for the po-dunk school i went to. or how we didn't have much money and i got made fun of and beat up for wearing the same clothes all year long. or like maybe the time when i was 13 and i decided i was going to kill myself by eating like 3 bottles of aspirin. well that didnt work out so well. should have been smart enough to eat rat poison or something. how can you forget things like that. you cant. they stay with you forever. then when you're as old as me, your brain starts to mess with you. you see and hear things that arent there. wow thanks for bringing it up .

Yes, and its still haunting me to this day. But new beginnings are on the horizon, and I'll finally be able to leave it all behind.
