AMD and Intel are the leading chipset companies.

AMD + Generally run alot faster than intel
AMD - Run slightly hotter in gaming, Slightly shorter life

---Opteron-server class processor, very expensive though very
good performance
---Athlon-Gaming class processor, decent price and very fast
---Sempron-Normal class processor, very low price at good speed

Intel + May have a longer life, Takes less to cool
Intel - Run slower than AMD

---Xeon-Server class processor, great performance and speed, expensive
---Pentium-Normal/Gaming processor, good performance and speed, decent price
---PentiumD-Altered Pentium, decent all around speed, runs at low temperature, last long, decent price
---Celeron, low end processor, decent for internet surfing and email, not for gaming or video/pic editing, Low price


AMD works best with NVIDIA graphics cards
Intel works best with ATI graphics cards

+++AMD sempron 3000+ 1.8ghz($60) performs at the same rate as a Intel Pentium 2.6ghz prescott($140)

the massive distinction is in AMD and Intel processors. AMD is shown to be greater helpful (cooler and greater efficient) than Intel chips. additionally the socket # differs and specific motherboards can only use specific socket # processors. be happy to IM shmifty_14 for extra help.

all are probably different companies with different kind of performance but I like intel and Amd more than any from ur list
