I am from a set of female twins. Some don'ts:
Do not give them names that rhyme.
Example: Barry and Mary.
Do not give them names that have the same first letter.
Example: Alexander and Andrea.
Do not give them names that are distinctly male and female but sound alike or close.
Example: Gabriel and Gabrielle.
Variation:
Do not give them names that are essentially the same but have a male and female version.
Example: Christopher and Christina.
Take it from a twin, and not from people who aren't. It might be cute now, but it won't be to them very early on. Give them distinct names, so they can easily assume their own identity. This is what my parents did, and both my sister and I are grateful.
A good example:
Nicholas and Rachel.
Good luck and Congratulations!
***From looking at some of the other suggestions I would like to add:
Do not give them "themed" names. It's just stupid and they will be teased mercilessly.
Example: Bonnie and Clyde. Luke and Leia.

Whatever you decide to name them, remember that if the names are too similar, or even if they start with the same letter, you'll be stumbling over yourself for the rest of your life trying to spit out the right name. My aunt had a son and two step kids, all with the letter J, and she said she felt like a stuttering fool when all three were home at once.

Friends of mine are twins- boy and girl. Their names are Becky and Billy. It's actually Rebecca and William but we call them Becky and Billy.
Long as you don't give them a name that they'll resent in 15 years, I guess it would be OK.

A couple had a set of twins, and the guy was German and he wanted them to have German names, so he named them Adolf and Rudolph. Later, they had a second set of twins, and the mother named them, Getoff, and Stayoff!!

Anything other than some form of Edna. There are already too many of those. They just keep multiplying! Soon every question at Yahoo Answers will have an Edna somewhere in it! Run while you can! You hear me? Run while you can!
