I am sitting here remininscing on those days in which I didnt seem to have a friend in this whole wide world, but one thing I could depend on was my belief that God knew me and loved me. My heart was always filled with happy hymns or solemn prayer in those days. I used to sing myself to sleep in a house with no lights or water and wake up to interesting days, challenged to find water to bathe. Those days are long gone. But the other day, I visited in a dream that old decrepit house by the train tracks , where my belief was so strong. This time I (me being in the now) was afraid. I was thinking OH No! This place is scary! When I first thought of this question, I was concerned I was forgetting my God, but now, I am refreshed to know He was with me in such horrible times. And I know He will comfort me the rest of my life. I can count on Him to deliver me, to bring me out, and I will not be afraid of fantastic and terrifying situations. I will look back and wonder How did I get over? But I know! It was my God all along! Yay! Good night, people.

I mentioned my son a few times tonight . He left his earthly body at 7 years old last month from a 3 year battle with cancer. Left him paralyzed at the age of 4. I never had faith in the lord until his passing. His courage and caring for other peoples health amazes me. Here a paralyzed child with cancer worries about his cousins broke arm. His aunts hurting stomach or his healthy little sister who was choking on a piece of candy. I thought he was going to literally get up to help us get it out which we did. He was so peaceful when he neared death and the last thing i recall him saying was " I love Everybody". Is that not amazing. Not until the last couple of weeks as I've thought about all this things is that God had been right there and here the whole time. I could of not faced these trials without him. It always seemed like i said things and treated him the way i should of. I have no regrets but wishing i had of discovered the Lord sooner. But he planned for me to learn now because it makes it more beautiful. For any one facing any rough waters of any sort, remember He does not allow anything to happen that we can't handle. When it get too hard, he will carry us for a while and we can rest. If kids can go through battles like this and come out a winner by receiving eternal life, we can come out a winner too in life.

That's an awesome question,I am a believer myself. Went through tough times as well.I think we turn to God because he is always there for us,no matter what. He brings us through tough times so that we will be strong,he wants so much for us and has to break us down at times in order to build us up. As he molds our lives,he then brings good things and it only gets better from there. We have to be in the right place at the right time,so that he can bless us abundantly.

This is what I said to myself when I asked
MYSELF
that very same question.

Because He is the ONLY "One" who

***has never turned His back on me no matter how many times I turned mine to Him
***is everpresent
***is the only constant we without a doubt can count on
***knows and can provide our every need before we even knew we had a need
***is the best supporter of me out of every single supporter I had ever called a friend

Could He say that I was the best friend He had ever had? How many times had He wanted me to do something and asked over and over and I didn't do it?
How often did I think of Him compared to how often He had thought of me?
How many "supporters" would continue to remain with me if they were treated as I had treated Him?
How many times had I talked sweet about Him like I had about a friend who had done something nice?
Had anyone I knew ever done anything for me that could ever be in ANY way comparable to what He had done for me?

How long would I stay around for someone who only called me when THEY needed something and then acted like they worshiped me?

I am not such which God you are referring? I am not qualified to give the Jewish and Islamic response, so please accept this Christian answer based on the Christian bible.

The Christian believes that the Christian bible is the word of God spoken by the prophets. In its pages, everything we know about God is revealed. We know God is spirit, and we worship him/her/it in spirit and in truth. There is much more, but I will just focus on God as it relates to you in your times of trouble.

Heaven is where God is and hell is where he is not. Earth is where man is. God existed before the heavens and the earth; in fact, God created everything that we know or will know.

God is with us, every minute, every hour of every day. You may think you were in hell (a place without God), but in truth God was there all alone. When we find ourselves lost, we can focus more on God. Our faith/believing helps us, but God never abandoned us. God is with us even if we choose not to see him.

When I read about your situation, it reminded me about Jesus on the cross. Jesus was dying and the crowd thought he would save himself. Jesus in response prayed, he prayed Psalm 22, then Jesus die; it was the last prayer Jesus said. Jesus knew all the scriptures, but he chose Psalm. Why? (Maybe you can get your bible out and read Psalm 22.)

I have a short list that I use; you may want to read them later.
Psalm 100 tells us whom we belong.
Psalm 23 tells us who guides us,
Psalm 42-43 tells us how to deal with those who don't believe.

I have more; they all come from the bible. I would prefer that you find a minister/priest to help you. Clearly, you are not lacking in faith/believing, but what does God want you to do now?
